Meet our Board of Directors. Each is unpaid. Each volunteers his or her time to help our foundation do our share to help eliminate some of the unimaginable human suffering caused by poverty in the developing world by building primary schools for orphaned and impoverished children in Southeast Asia and Africa and addressing the importance of enabling girls to attend school.
PROFESSOR OF LAW LLOYD R. COHEN, BA, MA, PhD, JD:
Professor Lloyd R. Cohen has published scholarship on a variety of applications of economics to law, including a market in transplant organs, marriage and divorce, wrongful death, tender offers, and free riders and holdouts. Before joining the faculty of George Mason University Law School in 1993, he taught law at Chicago-Kent College of Law and was a John M. Olin Research Fellow at the University of Chicago. Professor Cohen has served as a special counsel to the U.S. International Trade Commission and as a law clerk to Judge Gerald B. Tjoflat of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Before attending law school, he was a professor of economics.Professor Cohen earned his B.A. from Harper College (1968), M.A. (1973), Ph.D. (1976) from the State University of New York, Binghamton and J.D. from Emory University (1983). Professor Cohen teaches Wills, Trusts and Estates and Statistics for lawyers as well as several courses in applied economics at George Mason University Law School in Arlington, Virginia. Among other functions for the Teach Them To Fish Foundation, Professor Cohen reviews and edits our copy work and web site content.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF LAW ILYA SOMIN, BA, JD:
Ilya Somin researches constitutional law, property law, the study of popular political participation for a constitutional democracy as an Associate Professor at George Mason University. Currently, Professor Somin serves as Co-Editor of law and economics journal the Supreme Court Economic Review. He has authored a variety of scholarly articles including publications in the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal Newark Star Ledger, Orlando Sentinel, South China Morning Post, Legal Times, National Law Journal and Reason. Among other functions, Professor Somin reviews and edits our copy work.MR. ANDREW HARPER, BEng (Hons):
Mr. Andrew Harper is the Chief Information Officer of Gaeltek, LLC a full-service information technology consulting firm that provides managed services and network design, maintenance, and management and web development services to small and medium sized business clients within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and beyond. Gaeltek is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and Microsoft Small Business Specialist. Before founding Gaeltek, Mr. Harper was the IT Manager for the British Council, cultural arm of the British Embassy in Washington D.C. Mr. Harper trained as an engineer in the Royal Navy and was a submarine weapon engineer officer. Mr. Harper's last post for the Royal Navy was as Head of Technical Liaison for the Trident Weapon System. Mr. Harper retired from the Royal Navy at the age of 34 as a Lieutenant Commander to pursue his career with Gaeltek. Mr. Harper oversees our IT systems.
MR. LAWRENCE C. SIZEMORE, BBA, JD, LLM:
Mr. Sizemore is a licensed attorney for The Chase Law Firm, PLLC and CEO of CIC-Management Services Corporation. He has traveled more than 2.5 million miles between the United States, Asia, and Europe working on, among other things, the development and formation of international syndications and joint ventures and large scale in-bound foreign sourced labor projects. Mr. Sizemore serves as the Foundation's Chairman of the Board. Among his various duties, he identifies prospective school sites that meet our minimum criteria for capital investment, negotiates price terms, conducts "due diligence", attends ground breaking ceremonies, overseas the integrity of the construction process, and attends opening ceremonies.
